Just to the west of Las Vegas is the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. This Conservation Area (nearly 200,000 acres) includes a 13-mile scenic drive. The map is shown below in the gallery. Most of the pictures below are from the scenic drive. Even if you don’t feel like hiking or can’t, you will still see plenty of beautiful landscapes and vistas. If you do decide to hike, you will find Native American petroglyphs as well as the Ice Box Canyon which has seasonal waterfalls. In 2018, reservations were not required; however, upon our return in 2021, scheduled reservations were required to enter the park and to go on the scenic drive. Check their website before heading out…
